Robert Roth installed as President of the American Welding Society

At the 100^th annual meeting of the Board of Directors of the American Welding Society (AWS), held during the 2019 FABTECH Show in Chicago, Robert W. Roth, President and CEO of RoMan Manufacturing, was installed to the office of President of the AWS.  His term begins on January 1, 2020.  “I haven’t researched it fully, but I believe we have to go back to (first president) Comfort A. Adams to get a president from the resistance welding world,” Bob remarked.

Bob has also served the American Welding Society as a Director-at-Large, a member of the Finance Committee and as Chair of the Welding Equipment Manufacturer’s Council (WEMCO).

The American Welding Society was founded in 1919. Composed of 22 Districts with 250 Sections and student chapters, it currently serves over 70,000 members worldwide. AWS strives to move the industry forward in both thought and action, as well as inspire new generations to see the exciting career opportunities available today.
